Maternity clothes!

In an effort to find clothes that are comfortable for me and that keep me looking good all through the summer, Liz (David's sister) did some shopping online to find some adorable pieces that fit! I must say, I absolutely LOVE what she found. I've received the shorts and the grey-ish dress, and am still waiting on the black dress and bathing suit, but so far, everything fits and there's room to grow! Thanks Liz, love you!

All the items were found on Destination Maternity, which has great stuff! According to my mom, maternity clothes have come a long way since she was pregnant with my brother and I, lucky me!

To the left is dress #1, my favorite thing so far. I'm totally wearing this to graduation and my baby shower. It fits well now, but there's definitely room to grow in the boob and tummy area. Perfect!

This dress is awesome and perfect for formal occasions; thinking I'll wear this to GU's commissioning ceremony. The lace is beautiful and perfect for dark haired people, like me!

Next is the swimsuit! I'll have to muster up the courage to actually wear a bathing suit this summer, but once I do, a one piece is the perfect way to go! This one is nice and simple and hopefully will look as good on me as it does on her!

To the right are the white shorts. They're jean material with the stretchy band around the waist! They're awesome and perfect for any summer outfit. love!

Dressy shorts! Always useful during the summer for lunch and dinner outings. They look sooo comfy!! Can't wait to wear them!

These items are all so great, check out Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity, Pea in a Pod (pretty expensive) and of course the maternity section in Forever 21. ha!

New Developments Week 16

Hanging out in bed after work and wanted to update again!

I found this hilarious chart comparing pregnancy and partying on "Little Baby Garvin's" page and decided to repost because it's so TRUE! Enjoy!

Tomorrow marks Day 1 of Week 16. Here's what's happening in little baby's life:

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado, 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

So exciting!

On the other hand, I've been thinking a lot about the idea of having a boy and although I shouldn't be getting too excited just yet (since its not 100% that its a boy), I couldn't help myself and started looking at baby boy nursery themes, names, clothes, etc. I'm pathetic. But either way, they're so cute!!

I absolutely love the area rug and the crib in this photo! The rug gives so much style to the room, love it.

I love pretty much everything in this room...from the color to the design on the wall to the closet, its so cute for a little boy!

This room is great because it's not overly intense with any sort of theme...pretty gender neutral although you can tell its more for a boy. The two-toned walls are great, and I also love the built in closet/dresser!

So many cool ideas! I can't wait to actually start decorating the baby room! Whether for a girl or a boy, I'll definitely make sure it looks awesome!

Week (almost) 16

Hellooo! I am currently 15 weeks 5 days, will be 16 weeks on Saturday and haven't gotten a chance to update in quite some time..apparently people actually read this blog (Hennessey lol) and have been waiting for the next update :)

So many exciting things have happened in the past couple of weeks: my mom came down for 4 days and we had a blast! I bought my first few pairs of maternity pants and new bras with her and went out to lunch with her, Christine & Liz (soon to be grandma & aunt on David's side) which was so much fun! Then mom came over to the apartment and made crepes for Mardi Gras with Laura A, Laura T, Kristin and I!

I'm slowly getting my energy back, but I'm still pooped by 8pm. Unfortunately I've been getting TERRIBLE migraines which make it impossible for me to do anything...literally. Last night it was so bad I just went to bed..at 730 pm. But on the bright side, more sleep = so much more energy the next day to get things accomplished! Similarly, working out (ie: situps & pushups) are impossible now. My stomach muscles are expanding more and more as my stomach has gotten way bigger and basically I have no real strength left in them. I didn't realize how much I used my abs to do pushups until I did them on Wed at PT and pulled my stomach muscles...ouch!

I definitely feel more comfortable showing off my ever expanding belly...(not flat and a 6-pack anymore :( because I am getting more and more excited and proud to be a mom in 5 short months. Who cares if people around campus stare...I'm SOO EXCITED & I'll be graduating in May so who cares what silly freshmen think anyways.

Today was an AWESOME day..and still is! I woke up feeling soo refreshed after those 12 hours of sleep, it was 70 degrees out so I didn't have to bundle up like an eskimo, I had my doctor's appt, and I'm getting tons of work done to include updating my little blog. Woo! I'm still so pumped about how awesome today is going. This morning Laura took a belly pic for me so you can see how much its grown in the last few weeks.

I also went to the Dr.'s today. Side note: Found out that I have in fact only gained 1.5 pounds! Turns out the weight has just been shifting from muscle weight to tummy weight. So I'm not gaining anything just yet, the weight I had previously is just moving..? If you think about it long enough, it kind of makes sense.
The visit itself was just to do some more blood work, check the heartbeat, etc. but I begged my doctor to see if he could do a last minute sonogram so I could mayybeee find out if I was having a girl or a boy, and it worked! Free sonogram and a "maybe" answer. The heartbeat was stronger than ever, and little baby was moving like crazy! Dr. said it was one of the most active babies he had seen through sonogram...kicking, flailing, jumping around, flipping over..he/she was having a field day in there! (makes total sense, this is definitely my child!) After some searching, doctor was able to see something and his immediate hunch was that baby is a BOY! BUT, nothing is definite or certain because the doc could have just been seeing the umbilical cord, and baby was moving quite a lot and kept crossing his/her legs. It was cool though to have an idea from the doctor and he did seem to give a lot of credit to his "hunch". So exciting!! But I'll know for sure in about a month!

Here is a really cool sonogram pic from today: great shot of baby facing down and you can really see his/her spinal cord really well. I tried to label the pic, but I don't know if you can see them really well...shows "legs" at the bottom, the "spinal cord" in the middle, and "base of neck" in the top right.

Week 14 - Baby Developments

According to Babycenter.com, this is what's going on this week in little baby's life: so exciting!

How your baby's growing:

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Week 14

So this week has been pretty tumultuous; going through a lot of personal issues but with time, hopefully everything will get better and I can go back to feeling happy and positive about this pregnancy. But, as my friends say, I have been blessed with the most wonderful gift of all! Just need to keep thinking positive! (Definitely easier said than done) As of right now, however, it seems as though this will be a rough ride until August 11th.

Just want to give a little shout out: I stole the idea of weekly updates from Jessica, the expectant mommy who blogs "Little Baby Garvin". I thought it was a great idea and was inspired to do the same thing. (Thanks!)

How far along: 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 3-4 lbs
Maternity clothes?: Not yet, yoga pants and loose shirts mostly
Stretch marks?: Nope, still nothing
Belly button, in or out?: In..although it’s becoming incredibly shallow

Cravings: Cava grill! (awesome Mediterranean food) – Thanks laura!
Showing yet?: Small bump..nothing noticeable when wearing loose clothes
Happy or Moody?: Slightly depressed, but still really excited
Movement: Nothing yet, but I can’t wait!

Best moment this week: creating this blog to take my mind off other things

Things I miss: Sleep…I feel like I haven’t been getting enough of it
Gender: No idea yet...find out in March
Looking forward to: going out on weekends again and dancing my butt off

Week 13

Finally got around to starting a blog about my pregnancy! The past few weeks have been a bit stressful trying to plan out the next few months of my life, but nevertheless, I am super excited and all I want to do is talk about it, therefore scrap booking and blogging are good alternatives to boring people with my relentless "baby talk."

I know I'm starting a little late, but better late than never! Ultrasound above is from a;most 2 weeks ago, 11weeks, 5 days Looks like a little human rather than a peanut!

How far along: 13 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain: 2 lbs
Maternity clothes?: Not yet, yoga pants and loose shirts mostly
Stretch marks?: No, thank God!
Belly button, in or out?: In
